Daniela Jensen is a fully registered psychologist and has a Masters degree in Health Psychology. She educates her clients about topics in a creative and age-appropriate way and she collaborates with the young person to identify strategies and tools that they can implement to assist them to manage their particular struggles or difficulties. 

 

Daniela primarily works with children and young people and their families around issues including:

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

  • parenting concerns

  • behavioural difficulties

  • obsessive compulsive tendencies

  • social skills development

  • coping with separation or conflict

  • bullying and friendship issues

  • school anxiety and refusal

  • coping with adjustment to change

 

In her practice, some of the approaches adopted include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Therapy, Solution- Focused Brief Therapy, Behaviour Management, Relaxation and Visualisation, Social Skills Training, SonRise program, Relationship Development Intervention, Applied Behavioural Analysis and Play Therapy.

 

Daniela has a keen interest in working closely with children, adolescents, families and adults to help them overcome life challenges and is passionate about assisting those who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.


​Daniela is supportive of working as part of the multidisciplinary team, such as occupational therapy and speech therapy, and is a firm believer that children with autism can significantly improve their life skills with appropriate and intensive assistance, such as building social rapport, self­-regulation and communication.
